thinkpad
hi guys.
for context, my beloved dell g3 i have mained for 7 years is beginning to fail on me. not as a computer, just specifically as a laptop.
the plastic shell is deteriorating from the inside out, and the hinges have completely seized up to the point where it is permanently stuck open at 110 degrees. the battery has also died a death (i removed it), and the touch pad and keyboard are somewhat temperamental (probably due to the battery's swelling antics).
anyway, i think it's time for it to find a higher purpose than laptop (tbd). to make up for my lack of portable useable laptop, i've bought a 2019 thinkpad yoga, and i never thought i'd love a laptop so much. truthfully, i thought it would struggle and need to be given the linux treatment, but honestly it is handling everything i through at it in it's stride.
will probs dual boot it with linux eventually anyway, once i decide which distro. currently trying to set up an arch vm in my virtual box environment, but it's not at a point where i'm enjoying it yet (the goal is proper riced out hyprland).
tldr: bought thinkpad, love it, arch is confusing
